When I wrote Pony, I really had nothing to lose. I didn’t have any fans. I didn’t have a record label. I didn’t even had a band. I had never gone on stage and sang songs that were so personal. I didn’t know if people were gonna laugh, if they were gonna be into it. So when people reacted so positively to it…. that really showed me that I could just keep being myself and I didn’t have to adjust my perspective for anybody. - Orville Peck
